Twins showing off their chocolate mustaches after licking the chocolate drizzle spoon. :)
So I am officially 8 years old now. Wow, what an age threshold to cross. My actual birthday, the kind that only comes every 4 years was last friday. The teens from the missionary training center watched our kids and two of our friends families kids while we had a nice peaceful dinner. 6 adults and no children. Our three families represent 10 children...wow. The kids came all came back along with a few more for the important part. Cake and ice cream. It was a come and go party and we had a great time. A few of us were up until 1 AM playing rook. What a BLAST to have so many people over.
Jenny prepared a venezuelan dish, pabellon crillollo with plantains, arepas, carne mechada. YUMMY, YUMMY, YMMY. Jenny also made a GREAT desert that was browny, a mountain of icecream and fresh strawberry's along with a cake I like called wacky cake.
Thank you so much for praying for our family. We are feeling better, Praise The Lord! We generally take our health for granted, but when the flu or the bug takes a trip through the family it is a great reminder to be thankful when we are all healthy. :)
We have bee in Grammar (for language learning and analysis) as well as Phonetics now for a little bit. Talk about working your brain and mouth overtime!
We are looking at languages that we don't know along with translations of what is written. Then we use the language data that is on the sheet to determine where the morpheme(smallest unit of characters that carries meaning) breaks are. We then chart this data in order to gain a better understanding of the grammar in the particular language. We are only in the beginning stages of this class.
I Phonetics we are continuing to learn about our speech apparatus and how we manipulate it to make specific sounds. We are in small groups (thankfully) since it is SO embarrassing to try to make a new sound. It is like you are an 18month old baby again...except you are not and you are with a whole group of adults making fools of ourselves trying to make new sounds. You can see an article I wrote about working out our velic's by clicking here.
The weather here has been a bit skit so (sp?) lately. I think we were supposed to get something like 8-10 inches of snow and we got....you guessed it NONE! This was supposed to happen after Sunday's hi being 79 degrees.
Well...this post is getting too long...so all for now.
